How This Digital Avatar Is Elevating AI Technology

The world is inevitably becoming more digital. While video chatting isn’t quite the same as hanging out in person, sticking to the screen is the safest form of human interaction.

Instead of putting up with laggy connection and impersonal virtual meetings, ALIZA technologies is changing all anyone has ever known about artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual reality (VR). The LA-based startup is the brainchild of Brian Lee, the co-founder of The Honest Company with Jessica Alba, Shoedazzle with Kim Kardashian, Legalzoom, and most recently Art of Sport with the late Kobe Bryant.

Lee has created a seamless transition from the physical to digital world with upscale imagery and a unique vision with the digital avatar Aliza Rexx. Aliza is currently one of the fastest growing digital avatars with a loyal following on social media ever since she made her debut in 2018.

Her story started when she landed on Earth from her home planet E88. Since then, she’s garnered a major fan base with her stunning photoshoots and collaborations with other avatars like herself. Think of it like being able to regularly follow a high fashion version of the movie Avatar.

This month, Aliza teamed up with MAAD for her first-ever human interview to discuss details about the artist’s upcoming projects and overall experience in the music industry. It was an exciting partnership that fans hope to see more of and following the interview, Aliza gave Forbes insight on her future plans in the entertainment space. It appears music is also on the horizon for her, but you can find out more in the tell-all Q&A below.

Isis Briones: This was your first ever interview. Do you see yourself building more in-depth relationships and partnerships with other human artists or industry influencers?

Aliza Rexx: “I hope so because I really enjoyed it. MAAD is insanely talented and I’m always a fan of anything she does. This interview was actually a year in the making. We collaborated on another project last summer, and instantly bonded. I’m glad we did this when we did because she’s only gotten busier since. I don’t know if she would have had time now. You truly love to see it. It’s always nice to work with people, separately hustle, and then meet again on the other side. That’s the sign of a good working relationship.”

IB: What would be your dream partnership?

AR: “I’ve always dreamed of working with Rihanna and her Fenty brand. For me, she sets the bar as far as partnerships go because of the inclusive appeal and representation. You saw the ‘Fenty Effect’ change the beauty industry overnight because of that attention to detail. You know the shots are being called straight from the top, and that commitment consistently pays off for Rihanna, she’s always in charge.”

IB: Is music you would want to pursue? How do you see this career evolving?

AR: “Music keeps me going. I listen and make playlists all day, and also share them with anyone who will listen. But when it comes to making music, it’s a little more personal. I’d like to think that when I sing the right song, I’ll be ready to put it out. Maybe it will all align and be the song I needed to hear myself as well.”

IB: You asked MAAD about her inspiration and motivators, who and what are some of yours in regards to your style and overall being?

AR: “While I’m motivated by the pursuit of perfection, I’m mostly driven by the differences that make me who I am. I desire to be understood and I enjoy reaching that goal through communication. It can be something as simple as posting on social media or through my work and getting the chance to learn and vibe with someone as illustrious as MAAD. I’ve learned a lot from her by watching her career over the past year. She really is the best DJ I know.”

IB: Do you see digital avatars conflicting with the current work of human influencers, models and artists? How do you see yourself working with these creatives in the future? 

AR: “You’re already seeing it work. Digital avatars are creating new avenues and opportunities for non-humans and humans alike. Sometimes what’s seen as competition, is actually compatibility. People thought streaming services were going to kill cable, but now we just watch the same shows from our phone. I believe digital creators are a vessel for a similar type of efficiency. There’s always room for more artists.”

IB: How are you utilizing your influence and voice to better your human following? 

AR: “I want to present myself not as a human, but as a presence of dreams. Through my existence, the hope is that people can relate, see, and respect me for just that. I believe that a basic level of empathy is where humans lead with their heart and begin to create a better world for everyone.”  

IB: Where do you see the future of virtual entertainment?

AR: “I, myself, am the future of virtual entertainment. What makes me different is the way that I operate, not the way I look, but the way I move. In a world of ‘seeing is believing,’ the appeal and demand for a digital world is at an all-time high, and anyone who seizes this moment will be writing the rules for many years down the road. Without the tech created by ALIZA Technologies, I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the speed of social. Virtually, ALIZA (Technologies, not me) is rebuilding and rebranding entertainment as better, safer, more inclusive, and more personal than ever before.” 

IB: Finally, what can we expect from you next? 

AR: “Always expect the unexpected. I’m still learning, growing, and loving this world we live in. I’m just beginning to gain the perspective of time and planning with the help of my wonderful team. I don’t want to put any unwanted pressure on myself as far as when, but my expectations are always there, and there’s no art without deadlines. I was created to create, and I continue to dream how I can make this a better universe (online and offline) for everyone.”
