Indian movie buffs are set to be treated with the theatrical release of the sequel to Korean thriller Train to Busan, Peninsula. After Robert De Niro’s The War With Grandpa, Peninsula will be among the fresh releases to release in Indian theaters on November 27.
The Indian trailer for Peninsula, directed by Yeon Sung-ho, uses music from Anurag Kashyap’s thriller Ugly. The trailer is packed with zombies, action and a group of brave hearts who wish to overcome it all.
About his film’s music making it to Peninsula trailer, Mr Kashyap says, “I am a big admirer of Yeon Sung-ho and his work. I am extremely happy and excited about my film Ugly’s music being used for his movie trailer in India. I loved the trailer and the music of Ugly fits the trailer so well”. The director, best known for his gangster films Gangs of Wasseypur, also revealed that he met Sung-Ho in 2016 during the Cannes International Film Festival.
Shariq Patel, CEO Zee Studios is happy the film is releasing in India. Shariq says they are glad with the trade and audience response to the film till date. “With this being one of the first International films to release post lockdown, we feel great for providing audiences with incredible big-screen experiences like this zombie thriller.”
CEO of Kross Pictures Hyunwoo Thomas Kim adds, , “We are elated with the response Peninsula received upon its announcement and are confident that the film will be received well in the Indian market given it is the festival season in the country. We are delighted Peninsula will be one of the first few films to welcome Indian audiences back to the theaters and hope this special India trailer is a treat for all cinephiles.”
Meanwhile, Indian theaters will screen Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari that hits screens on November 15. The first fresh film to hit Indian cinema halls was Rohena Gera’s Is Love Enough, Sir? that released on Friday, November 13.
