NFT Gallery establishes a physical connection with the digital art world
The NFT Gallery was founded by Lynn Rosenberger and Lillian Hornong-Mary, an exciting new physical space for art collectors and creators alike to buy, produce and learn NFT and digital art. Located at the heart of London’s burgeoning art scene, the NFT Gallery is a cross between the world of legacy art collections and the new digital age of creative expression.
Traditionally, women have been under-represented in the world of industry, technology and investment, and so the NFT Gallery seeks to be an important place for women participants to showcase their talents and work more broadly in the digital industry sector.
With a 270-square-meter gallery on Mayfair’s Dover Street, the NFT Gallery is a destination for NFTs and the digital industry. Set across two floors, the ground floor exhibition space provides a place to view exhibits curated by NFTs with the highest quality care. The first floor is dedicated to learning by providing panel discussions, workshops and a series of events together with our ad-hub partners and collaborators. In addition, it is a meeting point for collectors, enthusiasts, artists and galleryists.
NFT Gallery is partnering with NFT and internationally renowned manufacturers in the digital industry to give collectors access to exclusive artwork and collections. Collectors have the ability to easily purchase NFT; Payment is accepted in both crypto and fiat currencies with proof of purchase registered in a blockchain, collectors have the option to purchase a tokenframe when purchasing artwork to display NFT in their own place.
Exhibition 1: Surface Tension – 9 June 2022 – 22 July 2022
Surface tension allows objects of higher density than liquid to rest without sinking to their surface, creating an impenetrable veneer. People use masks in the same way. The mask, whether it is a physical barrier or a camouflage, allows the wearer to behave unexpectedly or in other ways that they normally allow without it. The mask allows for the transmission of other universality, hidden or hidden messages. Always the mask seduces the viewer with its beauty or annoying its unpleasantness, distracting the viewer from the things below.
Women are under-represented in the NFT field and in the art world, both as artists and collectors. For the opening ceremony at The NFT Gallery, we highlight female artists working in both fields, unraveling the mysteries surrounding NFT. We showcase the work of established, traditional artists as well as NFT artists whom we commissioned to create NFT so that everyone can learn from others. The work and the artists do not need to shout about feminism or femininity in order to be heard or the playing field is equal, their physical and even virtual presence represents their value.
Paulina Almira, Celia Ka Tung, and Postwalk create their own worlds and descriptions to help us create our own feelings. Their colorful and humorous images create a veil, drawing to discover the dark inner workings of our minds. In contrast, Sarah Mayohas unmasks systems and technologies through her visual language, Bitcoin, a cryptocurrency backed by physical artifacts, questioning the hypothetical value of cryptocurrency and the unqualified value of art. Aitana Basquette works with a sculptural human motif to explore a surrealistic perspective that questions what it makes of us humans when Lily Eva Bertha’s experience lets the viewer’s clothing grow into a virtual body. Shadi Gadirian, through her sepia-toned photography, challenges us to think about the virtual portraits of our current gender role and the imaginary women of rebellious society, in the guise of their face make-up, pointing two fingers at patriarchy.
